members who answered the call

While all supported missionaries from Grace World Missions hold a special place in the hearts of our members, we have been blessed beyond measure with some amazing GBC members who have left to be on the field. The information below is to encourage members of GBC to find a special time of prayer during their day for these laborers of Christ. They have left all... to gain all for Christ! Thank you.

Clay & Ruth nuttall

baptist equipping nationals

Baptists Equipping Nationals / Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon & Uganda

Dr. Clay and Ruth Nuttall founded Baptist Equipping Nationals to further the ministry of Magdy Ghabbour, Egyptian with the vision to reach his people and the middle-eastern nations through the training of nationals to pastor and evangelize. This has become the most effective way to expand missionary effort, especially in restricted countries.

Funds are raised to sponsor scholarships and teach modules and graduate students from the National Theological College & Graduate Schools in the Middle East and Africa with Theology degrees and Doctorates in Theology to aid them in reaching the people of their regions and teaching them to reach others.

don & mary merchant

missionaries to brazil

Central Baptist Church, Piçarras, Brazil

Thirty-six years ago, Don & Mary Merchant planted Jordanopolis Baptist in Church in Sao Bernardo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. That church is now supplying and supporting the new church plant in Picarras. After serving in Brazil for many years, planting churches and building and ministering to an orphanage, returning to the States, and missing their mission field, the merchants have returned to Brazil to begin this new church.

Please pray that God will bless their ministry.

closed access

There are countries where it is not possible for a foreign missionary to get a visa. There are countries where church activities are greatly restricted. There are some countries in the world where open evangelism by Christians is unlawful. Churches in areas where they have to meet in secret are sometimes referred to as Underground Churches. Some people have been tempted to think that these countries -- many of which have Islamic or communist governments -- are unreachable.

While fulfilling the Great Commission in those countries can be challenging, it is not impossible. Closed to missionaries does not mean closed to the gospel. That's where the use of the phrase "creative access" comes in. Because the Good News spreads most easily through relationships, there are opportunities for evangelism in even the most difficult of circumstances.
